Daisy purrs into Nancy’s ear, ”Earth Day is April 22. Let’s make it special.
We want to help children learn how to protect and preserve the Earth.
What can we do, Nancy?”
Nancy comes up with a great idea.
”Let’s share the Earth Day lessons from Nancy Larson® Science with all the families we’ve met.”
Daisy and Maisy think this is “Purrfect”.
Please enjoy these lessons with our compliments.
Believe it or not Homeschool Conference time is already in full swing and families are thinking about what curriculum they will be using next year. Last year at this time I had pretty much decided what we would be using, this year I haven’t had much time to think about it :-), however for those of you that are, I wanted to give you an update on the Science Curriculum we are using.
My children love Science so we try to incorporate as much of it as possible into our homeschooling, they do Science as part of Classical Conversations, they also participate in a two hour Science class once a week. At home we have been using Nancy Larson Science 1. If you would like to sample some of their lessons they have preview samples available on their website.
What I like about this curriculum is that it is easy to use and implement. It is well scripted and although it has specific topics in a specific order, I have found that you can skip around. In fact we have skipped topics and gone to the ones that we are currently studying about in CC. I like to be able to reinforce what they are learning or sometimes study a topic I know we will be focusing on as a preview of it.
I’m back from the Southeast Great Homeschool Convention, in Greenville, SC, with tremendous thanks to Courtney and Mary Beth!
Personally, I think the booth with the new Science 4 banner looks terrific, so much color.
Visit our booth at any of the upcoming homeschool conferences, and save $20 off the price of any Nancy Larson Science program. This year Nancy also has free shipping on all orders over $200.
It’s a great time to become one of our homeschool families.
Next we’ll be at the VA Homeschoolers Conference in Glen Allen, March 22-23, 2013.
We’ll be exhibiting at the IHM Pere Marquette conference in Naperville, IL the weekend of July 20-21. Re-order for next year, or order your first Nancy Larson Science program. Either way, there’s free shipping on conference orders. http://www.ihmconference.org/chicago/
Guess where I will be this weekend?
It’s Richmond, VA for the Home Educators Association of Virginia. HEAV is a great gathering and opportunity to see old friends and make new ones. Come by and say, “Hi”.
This week, May 24-26, you can find Nancy Larson Science exhibits on either coast. Cindy LaJoy is already in California for the Great Homeschool Convention in Long Beach. Yvana and Taylor, homeschool moms who are teaching Nancy Larson Science, will be there to help Cindy. Cindy has used three programs (Science 1, Science 2, and Science 3) with her children. So she is a tremendous resource for your questions.
Madon is flying to Orlando for the FPEA conference in Kissimmee, May 24-26. Alycia will join me at the Gaylord Palms Resort to chat with other parents and answer questions. Alycia used Science 1 this year and will be teaching her girls Science 2 in the fall.
